For the 4th edition of the International Gastronomic Congress in Izmir 2 between 6 – 8 December 2018, Lisbon will be the guest city, taking the stage after Torino who was the 2017 guest.
This growing event is organized concurrently with TRAVEL TURKEY IZMIR by the Municipality of Izmir with the aim of gathering the leaders of gastronomy and tourism experts and educators, discussing the new approaches, trends that are helping to improve the tourism industry.
Lisbon, who has been developing a strong touristic strategy with a strong link to food & gastronomy was very naturally chosen to be the featured city for this edition, after Torino in 2017. As member city of Délice Network, representatives of the Portuguese Capital will be presenting the destination, the products, and the tourism strategy to the visitors from all around Turkey.
The introduction Key-Note will be proposed by Carlos Fontão de Carvalho, the President of the Portuguese Academy of Gastronomy.
Moreover, specialists will be sharing their knowledge on the stage of the “Tasting Story” that highlights the story behind iconic products. For this edition, the highlight will be made on coffee and olive oil, two very important products in the Turkish and Portuguese food culture in the presence of the barista Pedro Marmelo and chef Josão Sá.
The City of Gaziantep, the other city representing Turkey in Délice Network is featured as a partner destination of this important event.
